EEO 2023 MTN HOME RADIO STATION NARRATIVE STATEMENT

 

 

THE STATIONS OF TWIN LAKES RADIO, KPFM, KKTZ, KOMT ACTIVELY RECRUIT FOR ALL OPEN POSITIONS.  

JOB OPENING NOTIFICATIONS ARE ACCESSIBLE ON OUR WEBSITE AND ADVERTISED USING LISTED RECRUITMENT SOURCES. QUARTERLY LETTERS ARE MAILED OR EMAILED TO OUR RECRUITMENT SOURCES IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN COMMUNICATION CONCERNING OUR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMITMENT.

OFFERED IS THE ANNUAL $1,000 CHARLES W. DOWDY BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP. THIS IS OPEN TO 2ND YEAR STUDENTS ATTENDING ASUMH.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ARE OPEN TO MOUNTAIN HOME HIGH SCHOOL AND ASUMH STUDENTS. TWIN LAKES RADIO OFFERS AN INTERN POSITION WITH INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTION ON ALL JOB POSITIONS WITHIN THE COMPANY. THIS INTERN POSITION IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS WITHIN THE SCHOOL'S GUIDELINES.

WE RECRUIT NATIONWIDE BY ADVERTISING JOB OPENINGS WITH LISTED RECRUITMENT SOURCES AND ON TWIN LAKES RADIO WEBSITE. DOING THIS HELPS US RECRUIT POTENTIAL APPLICANTS FROM A VERY DIVERSE CROSS SECTION OF ARKANSAS, MISSOURI AND BEYOND. THE RECRUITING OF MINORITIES AND WOMEN CONTINUES TO BE VERY IMPORTANT TO OUR COMPANY.

THE STATIONS OF TWIN LAKES RADIO, KPFM, KKTZ, KOMT ACTIVELY RECRUIT FOR ALL OPEN POSITIONS. WE PREVIOUSLY PARTICIPATED IN LOCAL COLLEGES' ANNUAL CAREER FAIRS AND COMMUNITY BUSINESS EXPOS TO FIND APPLICANTS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND BEYOND THE CORNERS OF OUR COMMUNITY. DUE TO STAFF CHANGES, WE WERE UNABLE TO SEND A REPRESENTATIVE THIS YEAR.

OFFERED IS THE ANNUAL CHARLES W. DOWDY $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY, MOUNTAIN HOME. TWIN LAKES RADIO HAS AWARDED THIS YEARLY SCHOLARSHIP AND WILL CONTINUE TO SPONSOR THROUGH ASUMH.

RADIO STATION REPRESENTATIVES PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY EVENTS AND HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE MENTOR PROGRAM. ALSO, WE RECRUIT APPLICANTS NATIONWIDE BY ADVERTISING JOB OPENINGS ON OUR WEBSITE, ON OUR THREE RADIO STATIONS, AND ON OUR ROADSIDE OUTDOOR SIGN. INITIATIVE 1:

THE RADIO STATIONS OF KPFM, KKTZ, KOMT OFFER THE ANNUAL CHARLES W. DOWDY $1000 SCHOLARSHIP. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS OPEN AND AWARDED TO ASUMH 2ND YEAR STUDENTS AND IS SELECTED BY THE STAFF AND FACULTY AT THE BUSINESS AND TECH COLLEGE AT ASUMH AND SPONSORED AND SUPPORTED BY OUR STATIONS.

 

 

 

INITIATIVE 2:

THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH THROUGH MARCH OF THE 2022/2023 SCHOOL YEAR, TWIN LAKES RADIO REPRESENTATIVE, BOB VAN HAAREN SERVED AS A MENTOR TO MOUNTAIN HOME HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY PROGRAM CLASSES. HE SPEAKS TO THE 10th, 11th and 12th grade STUDENTS ABOUT THE VARIETY OF CAREERS IN RADIO, about everyday needed job skills, communications, applying for college, life skills, banking and more.  also, other community professionals ARE INVITED to join SESSIONS AS GUEST SPEAKERS. IF STUDENTS INQUIRE ABOUT POSITIONS AT TWIN LAKES RADIO, THESE STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED APPLICATIONS, WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON COMPLETING AND WHERE TO SUBMIT. ALSO, THIS REPRESENTATIVE REINFORCED TWIN LAKES RADIO STATION'S EQUAL OPPORTUNITY HIRING PRACTICES

INITIATIVE 3: STATION REPRESENTATIVE, KRISTEN SPEER HOLDS A BOARD POSITION AT THE SCHLIEMAN CENTER FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH AND PARTICIPATES IN THE TEEN GIRLS PROGRAMS AS A PART OF THIS, WE HAVE A CAREER TABLE WHERE STUDENT ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT JOBS, EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, ETC. SEVERAL GIRLS INTERACTED BY RECORDING LINERS AT THIS YEAR'S EVENT. A PREVIOUS PART TIME EMPLOYEE WAS RECRUITED FROM THIS EVENT. THESE PROGRAMS ARE HELPING TO INSPIRE YOUNG WOMEN TO EXPLORE THEIR CAREER OPTIONS AND MAKE POSITIVE CHOICES. ALSO, KRISTEN SERVES AS SECRETARY/TREASURER OF THE ARKANSAS BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION BOARD. AS A PART OF ABA THEY SUPPORT STUDENTS THROUGH SKILLS USA AND OTHER PROGRAMS AND SCHOLARSHIPS.

 

INITIATIVE 4: STATION REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDED THE 7TH ANNUAL MOUNTAIN HOME HIGH SCHOOL CAREER EXPO FROM 8:30-1:40 ON THE MHHS CAMPUS. WE HELD A LIVE BROADCAST AND SPONSORED A BOOTH WITH THE LATEST INFORMATION ABOUT JOB OPENINGS AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AT TWIN LAKES RADIO. THIS EVENT WAS OPEN TO ALL MHHS SENIORS, JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES

 

 

INITIATIVE 5:  WE CONTINUE OUR OUTREACH COMMUNICATIONS BY MAILING AND EMAILING LETTERS TO THE LISTED AND OTHER POTENTIAL RECRUITMENT SOURCES, STATING CURRENT JOB OPENINGS, OUR COMPANY POLICY TO KEEP ALL APPLICATIONS AND RESUMES ON FILE FOR FUTURE RESOURCE AND REINFORCING OUR EQUAL OPPORTUNIY EMPLOYMENT POLICY.
